Protect Your Skin From The Sun

As we age our skin becomes more drier and more lax and wrinkled, partly because we lose about 30% of the collagen in our skin after menopause and partly because of the SUN. So let’s start with rule #1-
protect your skin from the sun. HOW?
1. Avoid the sun during peak hours (10 to 2pm) Even on overcast days.
2. Wear protective clothing which includes sunglasses and hats. There are even laundry additives available which give clothing an additional layer of ultraviolet protection.
3. Apply sunscreen generously and regularly about every 2 hours if in the sun.
4. Skip the tanning beds they emit UVA rays.
5. Choose a broad spectrum spf30 which will protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays.
PCA has many sunscreens to choose from, depending on your skin type. They all have a seal of approval from the national skin cancer society. There is one for dry skin, oily skin, pigmented skin, acne skin and there is even a tinted spf.
Rule #2 Use skincare products professionally recommended for your skin!
